Which Map Question Marks Are Worth Clearing? An AION 2 Update for Quests, Caves and Gathering

After the main story, focus on worthwhile side quests and caves rewarding Guardian Points or skill points, with improvements to Brawler combat, travel and gathering.

Open the AION 2 map and you may see plenty of question marks. Which ones are worth the trip? Character preparation brings leveling, side quests, exploration and material collection together on one to-do list. The Yonghengzhita updates from October 2–4 give that list a clearer order and improve the travel and combat work needed to carry it out.

Grow the character first, then choose worthwhile quests

From a fresh character to level 45, auto questing handles the repeated work of the 0–45 leveling path. The October 2 fix addresses a level-32 main quest stall that prevented acceptance of a side quest. It targets a specific handoff where character progress could otherwise stop and require attention.

After level 45, the emphasis shifts from levels alone to useful remaining work. The October 3 change has auto questing clear side quests with better value for the effort before moving toward the subsequent auto-grinding routine. A small number of complex side quests are excluded. “Bulk side quest completion” therefore describes this selected set, not unconditional completion of every side quest in the game.

The October 4 update adds a further step: after the main story, the routine does side quests and then Cave Exploration. The caves correspond to map question marks, but the tool does not blindly visit them all. For both Elyos and Asmodians, it chooses only caves that award Guardian Points or skill points. If you want to clear Elyos caves, you must first manually move to an Elyos map. This prerequisite matters when you plan the route for your faction.

Route choices, patrols and skills shape the journey

A great deal of time disappears on the road. The October 4 flying update picks a more suitable moment to take off during both auto quests and auto gathering, shortening detours. The improvement concerns route choice, rather than a rule to fly whenever the character moves.

On October 3, the tool gained support for the new Brawler class and improved auto-combat patrols to reduce missed monsters. On October 4, it also fixed recognition and activation of Stigma skills stacked on the quickbar. A stacked hotbar arrangement should no longer cause those skills to be overlooked. Class support, target patrols and skill recognition all affect whether a longer combat session remains smooth.

Feathers can be part of a broader gathering route

Gathering saw two rounds of changes. The October 2 release fixed several gathering bugs and extended feather collection to all feathers on each map. It also allows hidden bags and other items to be collected at the same time as feathers. The October 4 release fixed gathering filters on Steam servers, so the chosen filters can work again. The flight improvement also applies while traveling between gathering targets.

Together, these changes describe a practical itinerary: get past the level-32 quest junction, finish worthwhile side quests after leveling, explore caves with the specified rewards, and reduce missed combat and collection targets along the way.
