AION 2 Korea's October 14 Elemental-Damage Update: Spiritmaster, Sorcerer and Cleric Skill Breakdown

Region: the Korean PLAYNC version of AION 2. This October 14 patch is not a confirmed update to Steam/PURPLE Global.

Korea’s October 14 balance update is often summarized in terms of PvP pacing, frontline survivability and defensive cooldowns. For players who specialize in spell-oriented classes, another change has a different practical significance: selected Spiritmaster, Sorcerer and Cleric attacks now have explicitly assigned elemental damage types.

There is no announced universal “caster damage increased by X%” effect here. The relevant detail is which skills have been placed in which group.

Spiritmaster: four elements, not one blanket type

The Korean patch description and available English translation map the relevant Spiritmaster attacks as follows:

Element Named skills
Fire Soul’s Cry, Elemental Fusion, Curse of Despair, Flame Blessing, Jointstrike: Corrode, Cry of Terror, Cursed Cloud, Magic Block
Water Consecutive Countercurrent
Wind Jointstrike: Curse, Dimensional Control, Corrode, Siphon, Seize Magic
Earth Rapid Scattershot, Spirit’s Descent, Jointstrike: Destructive Attack, Summon: Ancient Spirit

English names are included for cross-reference; individual game-language settings may display other translations. This is a list of affected abilities, not proof that every Spiritmaster spell has changed. The patch also fixes a summoned Ancient Spirit skill that previously failed to trigger below summon level 15.

The four-element spread gives Korean players a strong reason to test ability-specific interactions rather than treat every Spiritmaster damage event as identical.

Sorcerer: Fire/Water assignments and effect-overlap fixes

For Sorcerer, Lumiel’s Space, Perdition, Grace of Enhancement and Vitality Evaporation appear in the Fire group. Soul Freeze and Cold Snap are listed under Water.

Separate fixes target damage-over-time behavior during group play. Another caster’s higher-level Fire Wall should no longer remove your Embers effect, while a higher-level Cold Storm should no longer erase your Frostbite. Fire Wall also receives a missing attribute-label correction and a fix for extra damage persisting after Embers ends under Spec 3.

Those are three categories of changes—damage typing, effect ownership and specific bug fixes—not a single multiplier that can be inserted into every Sorcerer build.

Cleric: offensive skills also have elements

The selected Cleric attacks are Lightning Strike Scattershot under Wind, with Noble Aura and Empyrean Lord’s Grace under Earth. This classification applies to those offensive skills. It does not mean every healing spell now deals elemental damage, and it should not be presented as a general healing-output buff.

A useful testing checklist, with one important regional caveat

Korean-server players can begin by checking post-patch tooltips, separating targets and their resistances, and comparing the same ability under repeatable equipment conditions. The patch establishes a categorization worth studying, not a verified best-in-slot recommendation.

For Global players, the boundary is equally important: NC has not confirmed that these exact Korean skill-type assignments are implemented, or scheduled, on Steam/PURPLE Global. They are a view into the Korean client, not a promise about Global’s next balance patch.
