Region notice: this report is about proposals discussed for AION 2 Korea on October 13, 2026. The changes below are not confirmed as live Korean patch notes, and should not be treated as balance changes for Steam/PURPLE Global or Taiwan.
Korean players have raised concerns that large equipment gaps and rapid bursts can shut newcomers out of meaningful Abyss and faction combat. During the latest developer livestream, the team acknowledged the barrier and discussed a less one-sided combat rhythm that could create space for tactical responses.
The most striking number in viewer recaps is an approximately 30% reduction in PvP damage. That is a directional figure discussed on stream, not a license to claim every attack has already been reduced by exactly 30%. The scope, exceptions and final coefficients remain subject to published Korean update notes.
Melee tools could change group engagements
The broadcast summaries also describe two possible skill adjustments designed to make melee positioning and defensive timing more consequential.
Assault (강습) would grant defense and all-element resistance for five seconds, with the effect linked to how many opponents are hit. The livestream recap records an 80% figure and notes that cooldown reduction would not apply to the cited effect. Until the full skill tooltip appears in the Korean client, players should not infer precise scaling or stacking formulas from a short live summary.
Block (막기) would additionally reduce its recast timer by 0.3 seconds after a successful block. In practice, the value lies not only in the decimal but in rewarding well-timed defense during crowded fights. Whether that significantly changes class rankings cannot yet be measured.
A rollout window, not a completed rollout
The Korean presentation referred to measures planned for October 14 and the following week. A separate community reproduction of the operations notice gives a routine Korean maintenance window of 04:30–08:00 KST on October 14. Neither the window nor the stream summary establishes that every proposed PvP mechanic will go live in that maintenance.
A lower-burst environment might help healers and coordinated melee groups respond, but that is analysis, not a guaranteed outcome. Equipment progression and encounter scale are still important.
Global players should continue to use their own service’s balance notes. Korean experiments are useful to observe, not evidence of a confirmed Global deployment schedule.
