The latest Global patch changes two everyday account-management rules. The character deletion waiting period increases from one day to seven days, while the inactivity timer that returns a character to the lobby drops from three hours to 30 minutes. Neither change means an account is banned, and the 30-minute timer does not delete a character.
Character deletion now has a seven-day wait
NC says the longer waiting period is intended to prevent abuse involving repeated character deletion and creation. After submitting a deletion request, players now have to wait seven days instead of one.
If you are clearing character slots, check the character, its inventory, and any related plans before confirming deletion. The seven-day period is a character-deletion wait—not an account-closure period.
The idle return timer is now 30 minutes
The Global service previously returned inactive players to the lobby after three hours. The new patch reduces that period to 30 minutes.
Leaving a character untouched in the game world for an extended period may therefore send it back to the lobby much sooner than before. This is separate from a network disconnect, an account security lock, or a disciplinary restriction. The notice describes an inactivity return rule, not an account penalty.
Practical checks for players
- Before deleting a character: make sure you can accept the new seven-day waiting period.
- Before leaving the game idle: do not plan around the old three-hour window.
- When reading a system message: a return to the lobby is not the same as an account restriction. For an actual security lock or sanction, use the relevant official notice and support channel.
The same patch contains separate gathering, Abyss, and dungeon changes. This article stays focused on character deletion and inactivity so that distinct systems are not conflated.
