Region: AION 2 Korean servers only. These changes are from the October 7, 2026 Korean patch; no matching rollout has been announced for Steam/PURPLE Global or Taiwan.
One part of Korea’s October 7 update changes how players keep and process Masterpiece Remnants (명화의 잔흔), rather than adding a new combat encounter. It addresses two related but distinct material sources: Shugo Festa mode rewards and Expedition materials.
Shugo Festa’s formerly separate remnants are unified
Before the patch, different Shugo Festa modes could provide their own type of Masterpiece Remnant. NC’s notes say these mode-specific varieties are consolidated into “Shugo Festa (Remnant: Masterpiece)”. Players who already hold old mode-specific remnant items are not simply instructed to discard them; Substance Morph recipes can convert those old items into the unified remnant.
The update describes a conversion pathway, not necessarily an automatic login-time replacement. Players should inspect Korea’s in-game Substance Morph screen and their actual inventory before using or discarding existing stacks. The note does not give enough detail to invent a blanket exchange ratio.
Expedition remnants receive a different conversion option
NC also added Substance Morph recipes for Masterpiece Remnants obtained in Expeditions, with Enhancement Stones and Soul Crystals as outputs. This is a second adjustment: the existence of an Expedition conversion does not mean every Festa remnant can use every Expedition recipe, or that all activities now reward more materials.
From a player’s perspective, the new recipes offer more choices for sorting older inventories and using certain Expedition drops. Their impact on efficiency depends on actual in-game inputs and yields; those cannot be inferred from item names alone.
Global-service caveat: Korean crafting recipes, currencies and event modes need not be identical to Global. These are Korean patch notes, not evidence that the same material exchange is already live worldwide or officially scheduled there.
